Gamblin’s Stand Oil, manufactured by heating a pure refined linseed oil, is a heavy oil that wets pigments well. Stand oil is linseed oil that has been polymerised by heating. It is thicker than cold pressed or alkali refined oils, and has almost no tendency to yellow. It is useful for glazing, and helps to eliminate brush marks. AP non-toxic.

Gamblin Linseed Stand Oil is a thick, slow-drying, highly viscous oil medium made by heating linseed oil in the absence of oxygen (a “polymerized” oil). It’s ideal for glazing, creating smooth, enamel-like finishes, and increasing flow and gloss while minimizing brush marks.
