Golden GAC 400 Fabric Stiffening Medium

Golden GAC 400 is a fluid acrylic medium formulated to stiffen natural fibres, transforming flexible fabrics into rigid, sculptural surfaces. When brushed into unprimed canvas, cotton, linen, or other porous textiles, it penetrates deeply and dries to a hard, inflexible film, making it ideal for shaping, draping, or preparing fabric for structural artwork.

When applied to raw canvas, GAC 400 tightens and hardens the fibres, creating a firm surface that can be further primed or left as a sculptural element. Used alone, it produces a rigid, durable film that should not be bent or rolled once dry. Heat‑setting can further increase stiffness and water resistance, making the fabric even more suitable for sculptural or installation work.
