Liquitex Iridescent/Pearl Effect Medium is an acrylic medium designed to give acrylic colours a luminous, pearlescent and iridescent appearance. It can be mixed with acrylic paints to create shifting, reflective colour effects and added depth, making it ideal for decorative details, abstract artwork, glazing and mixed-media applications.

What it does

• Creates a luminous iridescent and pearlescent effect

How to use it

• Apply to a clean, dry and suitably prepared surface
• Mix with Liquitex Acrylic colours to create customised iridescent effects
• Stir gently until the medium and colour are evenly combined
• Apply with a brush, sponge, palette knife or other suitable tool
• Use in thin layers to build up luminous and translucent effects
• Apply over dry acrylic colours to add pearlescent highlights and reflective effects
• Allow each layer to dry thoroughly before applying additional layers

How not to use it

• Do not apply excessively thick layers without allowing sufficient drying time
• Do not disturb the surface while it is drying
• Do not use on dirty, oily or unsuitable surfaces
• Avoid excessive dilution, as this may reduce the intensity of the iridescent or pearl effect
• Do not expect the same appearance under all lighting conditions, as the effect changes with light and viewing angle
• Do not use as a substitute for a protective varnish where long-term surface protection is required
